Spotlight 🔦

Student Voice: In case you missed it, check out Week of AI's Student Town Hall! Listen to the voices of our future – students aged 8 to 18 - from across the country (including three of my eight-year-olds)! They'll discuss AI's impact on education, explore its transformative potential in classrooms, and navigate ethical challenges

Watch edWeb's AI in Education: Steering Towards Equity and Empowerment where we addressed the pressing challenge of identifying and mitigating biases that may be embedded in AI algorithms and how education leaders can help ensure that digital learning solutions serve to support equitable educational outcomes. We also shared strategies for demystifying AI for teaching staff, alleviating apprehension, and championing the adoption of these tools as a means to augment—not replace—their instructional impact.

In Part 1 of this 2-part series, Tech & Learning, in partnership with PowerSchool, brings together school district experts to share advice about how they have successfully implemented AI guidelines and best practices, as well as communicate the facts and myths about how the right AI tools can be used to support teaching and learning.

In case you missed it, check out the Week of AI's Leadership Panel for insights on how you can integrate AI into your school/district.

As we approach the eagerly awaited spring break in K-12, it's crucial to remember the importance of taking time for yourself to recharge. This time of year holds special significance for me. Just last year, I was in Florida with my family indulging in PAPER books by the water. Little did I know, that break would become a pivotal moment in my life. During that week, I found inspiration to evolve my web show into a podcast, and jotted down words on a Google Doc, which would later blossom into a...

This week I read an eye-opening article in the NYT about privacy and transparency in the auto industry. Did you know that automakers are sharing detailed driving behavior data with insurance companies?! It turns out this might be leading to unexpected hikes in insurance rates for some drivers. Picture this: 65-year-old Kenn Dahl noticed his insurance cost skyrocket by 21%. When he dug deeper, he found out his driving data from LexisNexis was to blame. He requested a consumer disclosure report...
